Wow, where has time gone? Baby is now an estimated 7.9 lbs. Here you can see a recent ultrasound shot of his belly (neck and chin on the left side, picture #1), and the top of his head in the second picture.
The doctor said yesterday, "It's a good sized baby!", and for 39 weeks he certainly is. I'm getting stretched to the limit here, and just ready to get him out of my belly and into my arms.

Meanwhile, daddy has been having fun making his last piece of furniture for the baby: in Dutch we call it a "park". For newborns, it's a sort of modern cradle for sleeping in during the day (usually stands in the living room) and serves as a play pen later on. You can put the floor down as the baby grows. He designed the frame out of wooden poles from the woods out back and put bamboo rails in between.
Again, our elephant theme comes back.....Such a cozy nest. Thank you God for this privilege!
